This is a linear route, 5-days ride, for intermediate cyclists that begins in Soria, and rolls along the entire northern slope of the Ayllón and Guadarrama mountain ranges to the city of Segovia, a World Heritage Site.
Along this route we travel about 235 km of the Cañada Real Soriana Occidental, the livestock route that connects the Soria mountains and the pastures of Badajoz. In sections the ravine is impassable for cycling with panniers, and we have taken alternative paths, not without difficulty. Over five days we get to know a good number of interesting Castilian towns such as Calatañazor, Burgo de Osma, San Esteban de Gormaz, or Riaza.
Since 1985, the aqueduct and the ancient city of Segovia have been a World Heritage Site.
San Esteban de Gormaz is part of the network of the magical towns of Spain.
This route runs through the Sierra de Ayllón, Sabinares de Somosierra, and the Sierra Norte de Guadarrama Natural Park, sites classified as SCI (Site of Community Importance); the latter is also a protected area as a SPA (Special Protection Area) in the Natura 2000 network.
