This is a three-day, one-way route for moderate cyclists who want to ride on an easy route through the spectacular Lobos River canyon, the ancient Sorian juniper forest of the Sierra de Cabrejas, and the Lands of Burgo.
We will visit places like La Fuentona Natural Monument or the fantastic medieval town of Calatañazor, and we will know a little more of this 'Soria Pura, Cabeza de Estremadura'.
Since 1998, La Fuentona is a Natural Monument.
This route runs through the Cañón del Río Lobos Natural Park, and the Juniper forests of Sierra Cabrejas, sites classified as SCI (Site of Community Importance); and the Cañón del Río Lobos Natural Park, area protected as SPA (Special Protection Area) in the Natura 2000 network.
Day 1.- Transportation to Hontoria del Pinar. Ride from Hontoria to Ucero (27 km), by the Cañón del Río Lobos Natural Park. Visit to the Visitors center of the Lobos river canyon of Ucero. Lodging.
Day 2.- Ride from Ucero to Calatañazor (30 km). Visits to the castle of Ucero, La Fuentona and the juniper forest of Calatañazor. Lodging at la Casa del Cura.
Day 3.- Ride from Calatañazor to Burgo de Osma (35 km). Visit to Burgo de Osma. Transportation back home.
