General Terms and Conditions
The information pack is understood to be the document that includes the description of the bicycle trip and constitutes the object of the Package Travel Contract.
The client is considered to be the natural or legal person who purchases or agrees to purchase the package travel.
Information about the program/offer contained in the information pack is binding on the organizer and the retailer. Booking any of the trips included in this catalog implies full acceptance of these general conditions, which are automatically incorporated into the contract, without requiring their written transcription.
Prices shown in this catalog or on the website are valid, except for any possible typographical or printing errors.
Legal framework applicable to the package travel contract and acceptance of the General Conditions.
1. Applicable law
These General Conditions are subject to the provisions of the consolidated text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users and other complementary laws, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, of November 16th, amended by Royal Decree Law 23/2018 of December 21st, Law 7/1998, of April 13th, on General Conditions of Contract, and Decree 13/2011 of February 25th, which establishes the general provisions necessary to facilitate the freedom of establishment and provision of tourist services, the regulation of the responsible declaration, and the simplification of administrative procedures in tourism matters, and Decree 6/2013, of February 8th, on measures to simplify administrative procedures.
General Conditions, along with the Specific Conditions for each trip, always published and communicated to the client, oblige both contracting parties to comply with the specific conditions agreed upon in the contract or included in the travel documentation provided with the contract.
2. Organization
BICICLETOS VIAJES is a bicycle tourism service provider operating under the technical organization of Inspirience Viajes Sostenibles, S.L.L. with CIF: B09615204, domiciled in Galapagar (Madrid), whose commercial name is Inspirience.
3. Booking a bike travel
For making a reservation, please send an email to info@bicicletos.org. Booking confirmation will be sent via email. Booking any of the trips included in this catalog implies full acceptance of these general conditions, which are automatically incorporated into the contract. A written transcription of these conditions is not required. This catalog or website indicates the duration, itinerary, price, supplements, minimum and maximum number of participants, and the services included and excluded from the trip. Additional information and possible modifications will be reflected in the information dossier specific to each trip, which will be delivered to the client and, together with the General Conditions, acts as the definitive contract.
4. Registration, payment method and refund
Upon registration, BICICLETOS VIAJES requires a reservation deposit of 30% of the total trip price. From that moment on, the package travel contract, as well as the general terms and conditions to which it adheres, are binding on both parties. If any of the services cannot be confirmed, the organizer will propose an alternative that the client may accept. Should the client decline this option, this will result in a full refund of the amount paid, equal to 30% of the total package price, without penalty.
If a person registers another person, they will be bound by these general terms and conditions on their behalf. No place is considered reserved until this deposit is made. If registration for the trip is made on a date where multiple payment installments have already been requested, according to the Specific Conditions of each trip, the client must pay the requested installments on that date when making the reservation.
The remainder of the contract price must be paid upon delivery of the vouchers and/or travel documentation, and must be made at least 7 calendar days (for domestic routes) and 15 calendar days (for routes abroad) before the trip departure date. Exceptions apply to providers, which will be communicated to the client in writing. Failure to make payment within the established timeframes or the full trip price under the specified conditions will be deemed to mean the client has withdrawn from the requested trip, and the cancellation conditions detailed in Chapter 9 of these General Conditions will apply.
All applicable refunds for any reason will always be processed through Inspirience Viajes Sostenibles, S.L.L., and no refunds will be made for services unused by the client. In the event that one person registers another person(s), the client assumes on their behalf each and every one of the implications specified in these General and Specific Conditions for each trip.
*BANK ACCOUNT: Payment can be made by bank transfer in the name of Inspirience – Bicicletos Viajes to the following account number: CaixaBank ES79 2100 4906 3322 0035 4184, indicating in the concept: the name of the route, name and surname, and trip dates (Pj: Canal Castilla, Enrique Peláez, Abr 2025).
5. Prices
Prices are based on transportation, accommodation, catering, bicycle rental, travel insurance, currency exchange rates, fees, and taxes in effect as of January 2 of this year. Any change in the price of these items may result in a revision of the final trip price. These changes will be notified to the client, who, if the change exceeds fifteen percent (15%) of the trip price, may withdraw from the trip without penalty or accept the modification to the contract. Under no circumstances will prices be revised upwards within twenty (20) days prior to the trip's departure date, with respect to already completed and confirmed registrations.
5.1. Special offers
When the package tour is booked as a result of special offers, last-minute offers, or equivalent offers, promotions, or prices other than those stated in the program/website, the services included in the price are only those specified in detail in the offer, even when said offer refers to one of the programs described on this website, provided that such reference is made solely for the purpose of providing general information about the destination.
6. Services included and not included
Given the current popularity of self-guided bike tours, BICICLETOS VIAJES offers two types of tours: guided and self-guided routes. All routes are indicated with the departure and end cities. Included services are those specified for each tour and in the additional information provided. In the event of a change to the itinerary before departure, included and excluded services will be determined by the information package.
6.1. SELF-GUIDED ROUTE mode includes:
- An information pack consisting of an information dossier with a summary description of the route, GPS track(s), possible water sources and unique trees along the route, a series of recommendations and contacts on outstanding places of interest, scenic stops, cultural offer, gear list, accommodation options, nutrition advice, restaurants, taxi services, as well as possible mechanic workshops in the area, as well as a telephone line in case of problems or emergency situations.
Additionally, we offer the following services for self-guided tours:
- Accommodation, in the conditions and with the meal plan offered by each supplier.
- Travel assistance insurance, on the dates and conditions specified for each client. See chapter 12.
- Bicycle rental, its accessories and services of transfer and collection, in the conditions specified for each client. Subject to availability.
- Luggage transfer during the stages. Subject to availability.
- All other services specified in the contracted program or that are expressly stated in the travel contract.
6.2. GUIDED ROUTE mode includes:
In addition to the information pack:
- An insurance for group activities. Assistance and civil liability insurance are mandatory for group bicycle tours. See chapter 12. More information: Insurance for guided tours.
- Accommodation, in the conditions and with the meal plan offered by each provider. Hotel establishment taxes and indirect taxes, when applicable and indicated as included.
- Professional Guide technical assistance during the trip, when this service is available and/or the minimum number of travelers specified is met.
6.3. Travel does not include:
Bicycle, personal equipment, visas, airport taxes, and/or entry and exit taxes, vaccination certificates, camera and video tickets, personal expenses, tips, extras, all kinds of alcoholic beverages and mineral water, food, special dietary regimes (not even in the case of full or half board, unless expressly agreed otherwise in the contract), laundry and ironing, optional hotel services, and, in general, any other service, whether mentioned here or not, that is not expressly included in section 6.1 or is not specifically detailed in the program, the contract or the documentation provided to the client.
6.4. Optional excursions, visits or services
In the case of optional excursions, visits or services not contracted at the source, please noted that they are not part of the package travel contract. Their publication on the website is for informational purposes only, and the price is not stated, or if published, it will be indicated as "estimated". Furthermore, these services will be offered to the client independently with their specific conditions and final price. Their availability is not guaranteed until the moment of contracting.
7. Documentation
All persons registered for the trip, without exception (including children), must carry their corresponding personal and family documentation, whether passport or national identity card, in order. They will be responsible for obtaining visas, passports, vaccination certificates, etc., when the trip requires it. BICICLETOS VIAJES acts as an informant, but it is the client's responsibility to confirm these with the competent authorities, and they will be responsible for obtaining visas, passports, vaccination certificates, etc. If any authority refuses to grant visas for reasons specific to the client, or if entry into the country is denied due to a lack of the required documentation, or due to a defect in the required documentation, or for not carrying it, any costs incurred will be borne by the client. In these circumstances, the conditions and rules established for cases of voluntary withdrawal from services will apply (see chapter 9 of these General Conditions).
8. Luggage
BICICLETOS VIAJES is not responsible for incidents related to its clients' luggage and personal belongings. Transportation will be at the traveler's own risk. All clients are advised to be present during all loading and unloading operations. Regarding air, rail, sea, or river luggage transport, the terms and conditions of the transport companies will apply, with the ticket being the binding document between the companies and the passenger. In the event of any damage or loss, the client must immediately file a claim with the transport company. In this regard, BICICLETOS VIAJES will provide appropriate assistance.
9. Withdrawal, assignments and cancellations
Clients must reconfirm the meeting point, date, and time with BICICLETOS VIAJES within 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure. Failure to do so will result in BICICLETOS VIAJES disclaiming all liability for any changes to the information previously provided.
At any time, the client may withdraw from the requested or contracted services and is entitled to a refund of any amounts paid, whether the full price or the advance payment. However, in any case, the client must compensate BICICLETOS VIAJES for processing fees and any cancellation fees for services already contracted with the various providers.
Failure to show up at the time of departure, without prior documented cancellation, or late arrival will result in the total loss of the tour package (unless otherwise agreed between the parties).
In addition, BICICLETOS VIAJES is entitled to a penalty consisting of 5% of the total amount of the bike travel if the cancellation occurs between fifteen (15) and ten (10) calendar days prior to the starting date of the bike travel, at 15% if it occurs between ten (10) and three (3) calendar days, in 25% if it is abandoned in the previous 48 hours and in 100% if it is not presented at the scheduled time of departure.
If the cancellation would be detrimental to the other participants due to the failure to reach the minimum number of passengers required for the trip departure, or due to the application of special rates, BICICLETOS VIAJES will also retain the necessary amount to allow the aforementioned rates to continue to apply.
Likewise, BICICLETOS VIAJES may also cancel a trip due to force majeure, which is understood as circumstances beyond the control of the party invoking them, abnormal and unforeseeable, the consequences of which could not be avoided despite due diligence. In this case, the client will be entitled to a refund of the amounts paid, except for management fees.
In cases where BICICLETOS VIAJES makes the package tour offer conditional, and expressly specifies this, on having a minimum number of participants, and if this number is not reached, the organizer may cancel the trip if this minimum number of participants is not reached. In this case, the client will be entitled exclusively to a refund of the full price or any advance payments, without being able to claim any compensation.
The above penalties and compensation will not apply when the client transfers their reservation to a third party, provided that the service providers do not prevent this and the modification is made more than five (5) calendar days prior to the departure date. In this case, BICICLETOS VIAJES must be compensated for the costs incurred in making the replacement.
The following will be considered force majeure circumstances:
1) In relation to circumstances beyond the client's control:
- As a precaution against a foreseeable risk arising from a circumstance that arises after the trip was booked or ordered. This claim will be considered valid when there is accredited information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, www.mae.es (link is external), recommending against travel to a certain destination, or against travel unless absolutely necessary, or even against travel if the reasons are purely tourism-related.
- In cases where it is objectively impossible to make the trip, due to an official prohibition or some other circumstance, such as an airspace closure, that is impossible to overcome, the client will not be entitled to "withdraw." In this case, all amounts paid by the client will be refunded, except in the event that another trip of higher or equivalent quality is offered and accepted.
2) In relation to the client's circumstances:
- Due to the death or serious illness of a first-degree relative or their own, or similar causes that prevent travel.
10. Alterations
When the organizer is forced to significantly modify the essential elements of the travel contract before the trip departure date, the organizer will notify the client by email as soon as possible so that they may choose between canceling the reservation or contract, with the right to a full refund of the amounts paid, or accepting the consequences of the modification of the initial trip. The client must communicate their decision to BICICLETOS VIAJES within three (3) days of being notified of the modification. If the client does not communicate their decision by email within three (3) business days of notification, it will be understood that they have chosen to cancel the reservation or contract without penalty.
In the event that the client chooses to terminate the contract, they will be entitled to a refund of all amounts paid, or to take another package trip of equivalent or higher quality, provided that BICICLETOS VIAJES can offer it. In the event that the trip offered is of inferior quality, the organizer must reimburse the client for the difference in price, based on the amounts already paid under the contract.
If before or during the trip, the organizer is unable to provide any of the services under the agreed conditions, the organizer will adopt appropriate measures to continue the trip, at no additional cost to the client, and, where applicable, will reimburse the client for the difference between the planned and actual services. Changes made due to weather conditions, unforeseen demands by suppliers, or limited local infrastructure are expressly accepted, provided that they do not result in a breach of any of the services included in the contracted package. In this case, both BICICLETOS VIAJES and the suppliers will be responsible for paying the client any compensation that may be due to breach of contract, which will be 5% of the total price of the contracted trip, if the breach occurs between two (2) months and fifteen (15) days immediately prior to the departure date; 10% if it occurs between fifteen (15) days and three (3) days prior, and 25% if the breach occurs more than 48 hours prior.
There will be no obligation to provide compensation in the following cases:
- When the cancellation is due to a lower number of people registered for the trip than required, and this is communicated to the client in writing before the deadline established for this purpose in the contract.
- When the cancellation of the trip is due to force majeure, meaning circumstances beyond the control of the person invoking them, abnormal and unforeseeable, the consequences of which could not have been avoided despite having acted with due diligence.
In the event that, after the trip has departed, BICICLETOS VIAJES fails to provide or finds that it cannot provide a significant portion of the services provided in the contract, it will adopt appropriate solutions for the continuation of the organized trip, without any additional cost for the client, and, where applicable, will pay the client the difference between the services planned and those provided. If the client continues the trip with the solutions offered by BICICLETOS VIAJES, they will be deemed to have tacitly accepted these proposals. If the solutions are not accepted by the client for reasonable reasons, BICICLETOS VIAJES must provide the client, at no additional cost, with a means of transportation equivalent to that used on the trip to return to the departure point or any other agreed-upon location, without prejudice to any applicable compensation.
No refund will be made for services voluntarily unused by the client, regardless of the reason for non-use.
If the hotel, airport, or other similar transfers included in the offer are not provided, primarily for reasons beyond the control of the carrier and not attributable to BICICLETOS VIAJES, the carrier will refund the cost of the alternative transportation used by the client for the trip, upon presentation of the corresponding receipt or invoice.
11. Responsibilities
BICICLETOS VIAJES explicitly states that it acts as an intermediary between the client and the entities or individuals providing the services indicated in the itinerary. BICICLETOS VIAJES will be liable to the client, based on the obligations that apply to them in their respective areas of travel management. Under no circumstances is BICICLETOS VIAJES responsible for any potential breaches in the services contracted from the various providers. The client must first contact the provider of said service, informing BICICLETOS VIAJES as soon as possible, who will work diligently to find appropriate solutions to resolve any potential conflict. In this regard, the client is obliged to report any breach in the execution of the contract.
In the event that the solutions provided by BICICLETOS VIAJES are not satisfactory to the customer, the customer will have one (1) month to file a complaint with the supplier, which will then have forty-five (45) calendar days to respond to the complaint filed by the customer. This period will begin to run from the day following the submission of the complaint to the supplier.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding section, the statute of limitations for actions arising from the rights recognized in Legislative Decree 1/2007 of November 16, which approves the Consolidated Text of the General Law on the Defense of Consumers and Users, will be two (2) years.
BICICLETOS VIAJES shall be liable for damages suffered by the customer as a result of non-performance or poor performance of the contract. This liability shall cease when any of the following circumstances occur:
- The defects observed in the performance of the contract are attributable to the customer.
- These defects are attributable to a third party unrelated to the provision of the services provided for in the contract and are unforeseeable or insurmountable.
- The aforementioned defects are due to force majeure, meaning circumstances beyond the control of the party invoking them, abnormal and unforeseeable, the consequences of which could not have been avoided, despite having acted with due diligence.
However, in cases where liability is excluded due to any of the circumstances provided for in numbers 2 and 3, both the supplier and BICICLETOS VIAJES shall be obliged to provide the necessary assistance to the customer who encounters difficulties.
When the trip is carried out in coaches or cars hired by the agency directly or indirectly and an accident occurs, regardless of the country in which it occurs, the client expressly submits to the accident legislation of the country in which the vehicle is registered. In this case, the client must file any potential claims against the transport company in the respective country to safeguard the compensation from the company's insurance.
In no case will BICICLETOS VIAJES be responsible for any services not included in the travel contract (such as transportation tickets from the passenger's place of origin to the place of departure, or vice versa, hotel reservations on days before or after the trip, etc.). BICICLETOS VIAJES is not obligated to compensate for any potential expenses for independent services in the event that the trip is canceled for the reasons set forth in Chapter 9 of these General Conditions.
BICICLETOS VIAJES is not responsible for accommodation, transportation, food, repatriation, or other expenses arising from flight departure delays or other means of transportation, regardless of the cause. BICICLETOS VIAJES will not be responsible for changes to the program during a trip due to schedule adjustments or delays by transportation companies.
BICICLETOS VIAJES understands that the client's physical condition meets the necessary conditions to participate in the trip, in which they freely participate. The client is informed that they are contracting a medium-risk activity and assumes responsibility for any incidents that may arise during its execution. Consequently, the client releases BICICLETOS VIAJES from any liability regarding any consequences that this physical effort or sports exercise may entail. In any case, the organizer assumes no responsibility and does not accept the inclusion on the trip of persons with physical deficiencies or ailments for whom doctors and physicians have advised against this type of activity. BICICLETOS VIAJES reserves the right to admit or expel persons who, in its objective judgment, do not meet the necessary requirements for the trip or whose actions hinder the smooth running of the trip and the harmonious coexistence of the group. For their part, by registering and contracting our services, the client accepts the characteristics of the route and agrees at all times to follow the instructions of the BICICLETOS VIAJES representative.
If the activity or trip is carried out with the client's bicycle, BICICLETOS VIAJES is not responsible for any damage or breakdowns that may occur during the trip, nor for the theft or custody of the bicycle, nor for the loss of any means of transport used by the client to transport the bicycle.
BICICLETOS VIAJES is not liable for any damages, losses, claims, or expenses arising from the use of the Website. It shall only be responsible for removing, as soon as possible, any content that may cause such damage, provided it is notified. In particular, it shall not be liable for any damages that may arise from, among others:
(i) interference, interruptions, failures, omissions, telephone breakdowns, delays, blockages, or disconnections in the operation of the electronic system, caused by deficiencies, overloads, and errors in telecommunications lines and networks, or by any other cause beyond the control of BICICLETOS VIAJES.
(ii) illegitimate interference through the use of malicious programs of any kind and through any means of communication, such as computer viruses or any other means.
(iii) improper or inappropriate use of the Website.
(iv) security or navigation errors caused by a malfunction of the browser or the use of outdated versions thereof. BICICLETOS VIAJES reserves the right to remove, in whole or in part, any content or information present on the Website.
BICICLETOS VIAJES excludes any liability for damages of any kind that may result from the misuse of the freely available services and use by users of the Website. Furthermore, BICICLETOS VIAJES is exonerated from any liability for the content and information that may be received as a result of the data collection forms, which are used solely for the provision of consultation and query services.
12. Insurance
The purchase of any route or service also requires the purchase of individual travel assistance insurance. Its coverage and terms are available to the customer at the time of registration and can be consulted at any time on the Website, in the FAQ (frequently asked questions) section. Since it is considered a mandatory element of the trip, if the customer wishes to decline its inclusion, for any reason, they must do so by selecting the corresponding option on the registration forms on the Website or by specifically notifying BICICLETOS VIAJES, thereby releasing BICICLETOS VIAJES from all liability.
In this regard, the customer agrees to present a copy of their policy when paying the final amount. BICICLETOS VIAJES will provide all information required to fulfill this requirement, in compliance with the General Law on Consumer and User Protection. BICICLETOS VIAJES is not responsible for the resolutions that the insurance company determines regarding the incidents reported by the customer and assumes no liability for such responses. The processing of the claim with the insurance company will be the exclusive responsibility of the client, with the organizer remaining entirely outside of this process.
13. Social Economy Market
BICICLETOS VIAJES is a service provider for the Social Economy Market of Madrid (MESM, for Spanish). The MESM defines itself as "A network for the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services that operates with ethical, democratic, ecological, and solidarity-based criteria, made up of companies and entities from the social and solidarity economy, along with individual and collective consumers. Its objective is to cover a significant portion of the needs of its participants within the network and to disconnect the solidarity economy from the capitalist economy as much as possible." BICICLETOS VIAJES participates as a provider of bicycle tourism services.

14. Validity
These general terms and conditions were drafted on June 11th, 2014, revised on September 11th, 2018, and revised again on June 24th, 2025, and are valid indefinitely.
