This is a 4-days, circular route, for moderate cyclists, that runs through the beautiful mountains and caves of the Navarrese Pyrenees, crossing the scenarios where superstition and fear persecuted women and men accusing them of witchcraft and condemning them to the stake.
After those hard and dark times now it's our turn to enjoy the spectacular landscapes of the Bidasoa greenway, the old border crossings, the Baztan valley or the Bertiz forest.
This route runs through Bidasoa river, and Bertiz estate, sites classified as SCI (Site of Community Importance) in the Natura 2000 network.
Day 1.- Transportation to Irun. Ride from Irun to Bera (18 km), along the Bidasoa greenway Lodging.
Day 2.- Ride from Bera to Urdazubi (22 km). Visits to the caves of Sare, the caves of Zugarramurdi, and the caves of Urdax. Lodging.
Day 3.- Ride from Urdazubi to Doneztebe (36 km). Visits to the Amaiur castle and water mill, and the Bertiz forest. Lodging.
Day 4.- Ride from Doneztebe to Irun (41 km), along the Bidasoa greenway. Transportation back home.
