The tower of Quintanilla de la Ribera

The tower of Quintanilla de la Ribera

This is a linear, difficult route, for advanced cyclists, for an intense day to get on a bike or walk to the telegraph towers of the Castilla line.

This line began operating in 1846, it had 52 towers and passed through Valladolid, Burgos, Vitoria and San Sebastián. Starting from Miranda de Ebro we climbed the Quintanilla de la Ribera tower by bike and descended to Puebla de Arganzón, from where we discovered the next tower on the Montes de Vitoria already on foot. We complete the line to Vitoria-Gasteiz, passing by the Eskibel tower, which we will climb on foot.

Scheduled itinerary:

47 km bike + 4 km trails: Miranda de Ebro - Rivabellosa - Quintanilla de la Ribera - Quintanilla de la Ribera tower - Manzanos - Leciñana de Oca - La Puebla de Arganzón - trail (roundtrip) - tower-castle of Arganzón - Subillana-Gasteiz - Zumeltzu - trail (roundtrip) - Eskibel tower - Eskibel - Armentia forest - Vitoria-Gasteiz - tower (church of San Vicente Mártir)
