Holm oak and ditch

This is a linear, simple, flat route for moderate cyclists, ideal to do as a family. On this occasion we pedal following the Manresa ditch, a 25 km canal that for more than six hundred years has continued to carry the waters of the Llobregat river from Balsareny to Manresa.

We start in the Parc de l'Agulla, an artificial lake built to ensure the provision of water and that currently constitutes the preferred recreational space of many Manresians. After passing under the highway we roll between orchards and crops, we see medieval houses, we roll over more than 30 aqueducts, we go through forests and mines, and we arrive at the Manresians lock, where the canal takes its waters from the Llobregat river under the Balsareny castle, from where we can return by bus to Manresa.
