This is a weekend route, circular, easy but for initiated cyclists, in which we will visit a special corner of the mountains of Cuenca: the Enchanted City.
From the city of the hanging houses we will take the cycling lane that runs through the gorges of the river Júcar and will finish at the top of the Valdecabras mountain range, where is located the famous collection of geological formations, declared a Natural Site of National Interest in 1929. We will stay in the very same place, and will pedal back to Cuenca by quiet roads.
Since 1929 the Enchanted City is a Natural Monument, and since 1996 the Historic walled town of Cuenca is a World Heritage Site.
In addition, we remind you that Cuenca is the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2023.
This route runs through the Cuenca mountains, a site classified as SCI (Site of Community Importance) and as SPA (Special Protection Area) in the Natura 2000 network.
