This is a 2-days circular route, with an additional day for transportation, moderate, short in distance but rather technical, as we ride on by the riverside trails of the rivers Duratón and San Juan.
Two full days to explore the spectacular gorge of Duratón river, where more than a thousand vultures and other raptors nest year long. Moreover, its bank forests, the chapel of Saint Frutos, the gorge of San Juan River, as well as the beautiful town of Sepulveda.
Sepúlveda is a member of the net the most beautiful towns in Spain.
This route runs through the Hoces del Río Duratón Natural Park, site classified as SCI (Site of Community Importance) and SPA (Special Protection Area) in the Natura 2000 network.
Day 1.- Transportation to Sepúlveda. Ride from Sepúlveda to Villaseca (25 km), along the gorge of the river Duratón. Visit to the Visitors Center in Sepúlveda, and the chapel of Saint Frutos. Lodging at Centro de Turismo Rural El Cañón del Duratón.
Day 2.- Ride from Villaseca to Sepúlveda (25 km), along the gorge of the river San Juan. Visit to a local beer manufacturer, Veer, in Sebúlcor. Transportation back home.
NOTE: From January 1st to July 31nd, to pedal along the preserved area of the Natural Park, is compulsory to apply for permission at the Visitors Center, in Sepulveda.
