This is an easy, linear, weekend route for initiated, that starts at the Robledo de Chavela train station, and follows by an ecological trail that crosses the mountain range of Cuerda de la Parada and ends at the dam of San Juan reservoir.
From here takes el Alberche greenway, up to the dam of the Picadas reservoir, from where descends to cross the Alberche river and reaches the village of Aldea del Fresno, where we will spend the night. On next day we ride through the oak forests of Navalquejigo and then reach Villamanta, to head for Navalcarnero. From here to Móstoles we ride again by another old train track, this time the Guadarrama river greenway, and reach the train station at Móstoles – El Soto.
This route runs through Alberche and Cofio river basins, sites classified as SCI (Site of Community Importance); and Encinares de los ríos Alberche y Cofio, areas protected as SPA (Special Protection Area), in the Natura 2000 network.
Day 1.- Train to Robledo de Chavela. Ride from Robledo to Aldea del Fresno (38 km), by the el Alberche river greenway and the Alberche and Cofio river basins. Lodging at Hotel Rural El Jardín.
Day 2.- Ride from Aldea del Fresno to Móstoles-El Soto (36 km), by the Guadarrama river greenway. Visit to the Wine Museum of Navalcarnero. Train back home.
