Sunset from the banks of the Mundo river
This is an easy, circular route, for initiated cyclists, of three days of pedaling through the Campos de Hellín.
We roll through lands of yesares and salt marshes, of reforestation forests and orchards, where we can discover the rice fields and poplar groves on the banks of the Mundo and Segura rivers, as well as the scratches of the devastating fires, a volcano, a tolmo inhabited since the Bronze Age, and a settlement town declared a Site of Cultural Interest.
Since 1998, the cave art of the Mediterranean arch of the Iberian Peninsula, of which the Tolmo de Minateda is part, has been a World Heritage Site.
Since 1998, the Cancarix volcanic python is a Natural Monument.
This route runs through the Segura and del Mundo canyons, sites classified as SCI (Site of Community Importance) and as SPA (Special Protection Area) in the Natura 2000 network.
Day 1.- Transportation to Hellín. Ride from Hellín to Agramón (37 km). Visits to the Laguna de los Patos, and the Cancarix Volcano. Lodging.
Day 2.- Circular pedaling from Agramón (34 km). Visits to the town of Las Minas and the Yesares de Hellín. Lodging.
Day 3.- Ride from Agramón to Hellín (35 km). Visits to the Tolmo de Minateda and the village of Cañada de Agra. Farewell lunch. Transportation back home.
