An easy route, circular, for beginners, which runs along tracks and flat roads, with steepy slopes here and there.
We will explore the course of the Tagus River as it passes through the province of Toledo, full of bends and gravel pits, very close of la Puebla de Montalbán, birthplace of Fernando de Rojas and scenario of the misfortunes of Calisto and Melibea. We spend the night at the Rinconada de Tajo, a village of agricultural colonization from the 50s of the last century, that keeps a charming taste of tranquility and oblivion. The jewel is the visit to the canyons of Burujón, a spectacular set of clayey gullies on the banks of the reservoir of Castrejón, where we can see dozens of migratory and aquatic birds.
Since 2010 the Canyons of Burujón are a Natural Monument, and also a site classified as SCI (Site of Community Importance) in the Natura 2000 network.
Day 2.- Ride from Rinconada to La Puebla de Montalbán (22 km). Visit to the shoemakers BIOWORLD Shoes. Transportation back home.
