The gully of Las Angustias

The gully of Las Angustias

We ride on the whole ‘isla bonita’. This is a 4-days, circular route, demanding.

It is a circuit for riders already travelled, which starts in Santa Cruz de la Palma, the capital city, and covers the island with some ramps of more than 10%, and some climbs of more than 10 km. We pedal the island by the main road and some ones with less traffic, passing through spectacular forests of Canary Island pine, banana plantations, vineyards and typical volcanic landscapes: the Canary Islands brand.

Tijarafe is part of the network of the magical towns of Spain.

Since 1982 La Palma is a Biosphere Reserve.

This route runs through Las Nieves Natural Park, Barlovento, Garafía, El Paso and Tijarafe, and Las Angustias ravine, sites classified as SCI (Site of Community Importance) and as SPA (Special Protection Area) in the Natura 2000 network. Besides, Bajamar crags, El Jorado ravine, and Cumbre Vieja Natural Park are also cataloged as SCI.
