Arriving to Grazalema

This is a one-week, linear route, for advanced cyclists who want to climb the mountains of the sierras de Cadiz.

Starting at the magical city of Ronda, we get into the Sierra de Grazalema, then to the Los Alcornocales Natural Park, to the coastal extensions of the old La Janda lagoon, to finally reach the coast and finish in Tarifa, the southernmost point of the peninsula. Passing through the limestone massifs of Grazalema, the most extensive cork oak forest in Europe, the evergreen laurisilva groves of la Sauceda, or the most hidden beaches of the south of Cadiz, this route is a wonderful plan for any week of winter season.

Grazalema is part of the network the most beautiful towns of Spain; whereas Villaluenga del Rosario and Zahara de los Atunes are part of the network of the magical towns of Spain.

Since 2003, the Cat cave, is a Natural Monument.

Since 1977, Grazalema mountains has been a Biosphere Reserve, and since 2006, along the Tinguitane peninsula, is part of the Intercontinental Mediterranean Biosphere Reserve.

This route runs through the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, the Los Alcornocales Natural Park, and the Olive trees in the south countryside of Cádiz, sites classified as SCI (Site of Community Importance) and as areas protected as SPA (Special Protection Area) in the Natura 2000 network.
