This is a 3-day, circular route, for initiates or beginners with good condition, that begins and ends in Aranda de Duero, and runs through the most important monasteries of the area, prominent monastic centers at different times: the Royal Monastery of Santo Domingo in Caleruega, the former Collegiate church of Santa Ana in Peñaranda de Duero, or Santa María de la Vid.
As an additional ingredient we visit several Roman remains, very well preserved by this area, from the numerous Roman bridges, through the Roman villa of Santa Cruz, to the Roman city of Clunia.
Caleruega is member of the network of the most beautiful villages of Spain.
Peñaranda de Duero is part of the network of the magical towns of Spain.
Day 1.- Transportation to Aranda de Duero. Ride from Aranda to Caleruega (33 km). Visits to the Mudejar church of Sinovas, the Menhir de la Pijotada of Villanueva de Gumiel, the Roman villa of Santa Cruz of Baños de Valdearados, and the monastery of Santo Domingo of Caleruega. Lodging at the guest quarters of the monastery of Santo Domingo.
Day 2.- Ride from Caleruega to Peñaranda de Duero (34 km). Visits to the wolf shelters of Caleruega, the Roman city of Clunia, and the Ex-Collegiate of Santa Ana of Peñaranda de Duero. Lodging.
Day 3.- Ride from Peñaranda to Aranda de Duero (30 km). Visit to the monastery of Santa Maria de la Vid. Transportation back home.
