This is a linear, weekend route for the intermediate cyclists, that starts at the Arganda del Rey metro station and runs through the greenway of the Valley of the Tajuña, finally ascending to the Alcarrian landscape, steppes dotted with oaks and olive trees, to reach the beautiful village of Olmeda de las Fuentes, to spend a night.
On next day we are back in route visiting first Nuevo Baztán, an impressive industrial project of the 18th century. From here we continue a livestock track that takes us to Alcalá de Henares, from where we came back home by train.
Since 1998 the University and the Historic Precinct of Alcalá de Henares, are World Heritage Sites.
Day 1.- Metro to Arganda del Rey. Ride to Olmeda de las Fuentes (57 km), by the greenway of the river Tajuña. Visits to the old bridge of Tielmes, and the Palace of the Marquises of Legarda in Ambite. Lodging at La Casa del Médico.
Day 2.- Ride from Olmeda to Alcalá de Henares (42 km). Visit to Visitor Center of Nuevo Baztan. Back home by train.
