Der grüne Weg von Ojos Negros

This is a one-week linear route for intermediate cyclists, that runs along the longest greenway on the peninsula for now, from its origin in the mining town of Ojos Negros (Teruel) to the surroundings of Sagunto, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

The old mining train track, almost 200 km long, linked the sierra Menera, at more than 1100 m and with its iron deposits already exploited by the Celtiberians; the highlands of Teruel and the sierra de Javalambre; with the Palancia river valley and the Valencian coast. After this greenway we continue along the Xurra greenway, thet through vegetable gardens takes us to the city of Valencia.

The Mudejar art of Aragonón and the silk market of Valencia are World Heritage Sites.

This route runs through the juniper forests of the Escandón Pass, the Sierra de Javalambre, l’Alt Palància, and the Curs mitjà del riu Palància, spaces cataloged as SCI (Site of Community Importance) within the Natura 2000 network.
