Vineyards surround Getaria
This is a very simple route, which runs along the Gipuzkoa coast visiting wineries of the most emblematic wine of Euskal Herria: txakoli.
We'll cycle through the heart of the Getaria Txakoli Designation of Origin region. The route is very easy, and over the three days of cycling, we'll explore the vineyards, avoiding busy roads and making the most of dirt tracks, bike paths, and local roads. After a short morning ride, we'll arrive at our accommodation, park our bikes, and visit a Txakoli winery for an immersive experience, complete with a tasting and/or a tasting menu. The afternoon is free to explore Getaria and Zarautz in more detail or simply relax in the rural surroundings of our accommodation.
This route runs through the Urola estuary, Garate-Santa Bárbara, Iñurritza, and the ría de Oria estuary, areas protected as SAC (Special Area of Conservation), within the Natura 2000 Network.
Availability of wineries and accommodations at each stage makes this itinerary ideal to be ADAPTABLE to the needs of each traveler, including senior cyclists.
